Our Flokati rugs are made in a family owned factory in Veria, Greece (established in 1950).
The New Zealand wool is exported to Greece for production using a weaving process that enables a 100% wool rug (wool base + wool pile) with no synthetics.
This is a natural wool rug that is mixed with dyed cinnamon colour wool. The dye used is the same used to colour clothing (hypoallergenic).
Prior to weaving, the wool is thoroughly cleaned and then rinsed to remove 99.9% of any dirt & vegetation from the wool.
The wool is then air dried over drying racks prior to the weaving process.
We keep 2000gsm and 3000gsm densities in the Cinnamon colour.
'gsm' means 'grams per square meter'.
As an example, 2000gsm is 2kg of wool per square meter.
Visit the link below to learn more on density (with photo comparisons).
After unpacking your rug, ensure you 'fluff' it up and tease it out with your fingers or a brush.
